At Swimsmooth, we firmly believe that you goals should both excite.  and scare you at the same time! Come along and join a lane of your squad peers to complete a 5km swim in the pool in aid of RNLI Wicklow. With a small group in your lane, taking turns every 100m to draft, you will fly through this seemingly eye watering distance while having the craic and enjoying the support of your peers.

What To Expect

Starting before dawn, this swim challenge will give you bragging rights well into 2024 and a good story to tell the family over Christmas lunch. Take on this 5km distance with the help of your lane mates. Take turns in leading 100m repeats, with  short rest intervals. Remember, pacing is key! The goal is to finish and raise much needed funds through sponsorship with your ambitious goal to swim 5km. Scoffing copious amounts of mince pies and bananas deck side, is all part of the fun!

There will also be a collaborative Spotify play list for the boom box deck side and glow sticks for our 'dark hour' when we challenge you to swim straight!

There will be spot prizes for the best dressed (yes, in the pool too!) on the day and goodies for everyone.

Places are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment. If you can't make the date, simply sign up to the DIY version and claim your a shirt when you send us proof of your swim.

The RNLI is a deserving charity with the work they do to keep swimmers safe. The Wicklow branch is based at Wicklow Harbour which we frequent during the summer for coached swims and longer training for long distance and channel swimmers.
