Our annual BIG Charity Swim is back for 2026!
This year, we’re delighted to once again support a charity that means so much to our swimming community — RNLI Wicklow Lifeboat Station. Over the past few years, our swimmers have raised an incredible amount for the RNLI, and we’d love to make this year another one to remember.
The BIG Charity Swim is about much more than the distance. It’s a chance to bring our swim community together, challenge ourselves, support one another and raise funds for the volunteers who help keep people safe at sea.
Choose your challenge: 5km or 10km, completed in the pool alongside your fellow swimmers.

10km: 5.00am start

Bragging rights
Sign up to this event before 1st November 2026 to receive this attractive long sleeve sports top with 1/4 front zip, breathable mesh panels, moisture wicking fabric, rear zip pocket and reflective strip. Not only will you be snug after your winter squad sessions, it's perfect for your summer dips too.

What to expect
Starting before dawn, this swim challenge will give you bragging rights well into 2027 and a good story to tell the family over Christmas lunch. Take on this 5km distance with the help of your lane mates. Take turns in leading 100m repeats, with short rest intervals. Remember, pacing is key! The goal is to finish and raise much needed funds through sponsorship with your ambitious goal to swim 5km. Scoffing copious amounts of mince pies and bananas deck side, is all part of the fun!
There will also be a collaborative Spotify play list for the boom box deck side and glow sticks for our 'dark hour' when we challenge you to swim straight!
Do your bit
Once you have signed up to your chosen distance, it's time to shout it from the roof tops. Tell everyone on your social media channels that you are undertaking a swim challenge for charity so they can support you with sponsorship, all of which goes directly to RNLI Wicklow.
